Ich habe ein kleines Problem mit den Header Bildern. Seit dem ich ein Child-Template benutze werden Artikelbilder im Header des jeweiligen Posts angezeigt.
Bei diesem Beitrag funktioniert alles wie es soll: http://viewpix.de/eine-nacht-in-zuffenhausen/
Diesen habe ich erstellt bevor ich auf die Child-Template-Funktion umschaltete.
Ein neu erstellter Beitrag, zieht sich das als Artikelbild festgelegte Bild als Header Bild: http://viewpix.de/ford-vedette-coupe/
Warum ist das so? Und vor allem, wie kann ich dieses Verhalten unterbinden?

I’m having a small problem with IE9 distorting (squashed) images, that have been inserted into pages , when the screen is resized below max width.

Hei Lars,
The image at the left of the post title is a featured image. Open the post editor, find the Featured Image (Fremhevet bilde) meta box and click on Remove as featured image.
Hi Per, thanks for your help, but i still want to use the Featured image when showning the list of posts in a categorylist.
It’s just in the post i would get rid of the image.

Lars, I assume you are using a child theme (?), if not you should (never modify the main/mother theme):
Download the yoko child theme
Add the yoko child theme to your WordPress installation
Add @import url(»../yoko/style.css«); to the style.css in the yoko child theme folder
Activate it, everything should look like it was when you where using the main yoko theme (you have to add your modifications to Appearance -> »yoko theme pages«
To remove the thumbnail from single posts
copy content-single.php from the yoko theme folder to your yoko child theme forlder
remove the_post_thumbnail(›thumbnail‹); from content-single.php in your yoko child theme forlder
(hopefully comments here supports the html markup)

One suggestion…
It seems that setting a custom link colour also changes the colour of some links in the WP toolbar at top. This makes them difficult to read on the dark grey toolbar.

Hallo, ein super Theme, das durch Klarheit und Funktionalität überzeugt.
Leider komme ich an dieser Stelle nicht weiter und bitte um Support: Ich baue gerade eine Seite mit Yoko und möchte 2 Änderungen am Layout umsetzen:
1)Ich möchte auf der linken Seite eine vertikale Navigation einbauen, z.B. mit einer widgetfähigen, linken Sidebar. Hierfür müßte man das 3spaltige Layout ändern in linke Spalte - Hauptspalte - rechte Spalte.
2) Der Footer soll mit zusätzlichem Content gefüllt werden, am besten mit einem widgetfähigen Footerbereich, den man aus dem Admin heraus bedienen kann.
Hat jemand das schon bei sich umgesetzt oder eine Lösung/Idee ?

Muss ich da irgendwas nachladen, gibt’s da nen Trick? Es wird nicht angeboten, ich brauche es aber unbedingt!

Hallo ihr beiden,
ich habe es ein wenig um die Ecke gelöst und bisher keine Zeit und Lust, was schöneres neues auszutüfteln. Am liebsten hätte ich die icons etwas größer und dass sie ohne wetiern Text direkt verlinken - aber so funktioniert es bei yoko nicht..
Das xing icon ist aber angelegt, ihr findet es im »image« ordner von yoko - ich hab es mir in die Mediathek geladen und dann ein eigenes Socal plugins-Widget gebastelt. Dort sind dann die icons mit der Mediathek verlinkt und der Text daneben fb, xing rss mit den entspechenden Seiten-urls, auf die man springen soll.
vielleicht hilft euch das..

Mir würde es ja schon genügen zu wissen, welche Datei man editieren muss. Das auf andere soziale Netzwerke anzupassen, kann so schwierig nicht sein.

Und wie immer gilt: Vor dem ändern ein Backup der Dateien machen!
gibt es inziwschen schon eine einfach emöglichkeit, um eine der beiden sidebars »einfach und simpel« auszuschalten?
beim gekauften piha und nilmini passt alles, nur yoka verschwendet hier einfahc zu vielplatz in der breite, wenn nur eine sidebar befüllt ist

I have just started using this theme and its kool. But I want to know how can I use a PNG images for Header. When I use a PNG image for Banner it makes the background black.

Hello, I love the theme, thanks. A couple questions though. 1) How do I make it so the author box show just after the post.. always. ( now it only show if someone hits comment, and it shows after other stuff)
2) I would like to install the child theme in case (I learn how to first.. haha ) change somehting. I am not clear where I would install it. from dashboard or at the server site? 3) lastly is there a place I can find out what the sizes of the two sidebars (pixel width) and the post pixel width, so i will know how large of an item can be for the sidebars to show them. If there is a tutorial or something on any of these or the child theme install just let me know where I can find it. I am very pleased with the theme and am glad I found it.
Wirklich es sehr schönes Theme,
bin auch weitestgehend bei den Farben geblieben. Nur eine simple Anfängerfrage habe ich noch.
Wie bekomme ich es hin, dass das Sub Menu eine DropDown-Funktion hat? Oder gibt es die nur für das Main Menu?

Ich hoffe du kannst mir beim Ummodeln meines yoko-Themes helfen .… ich möchte gern das Impressum unten im footer haben, bin aber noch nicht drauf gekommen wie das geht. Könntest du mir sagen wie du das gemacht hast? Und noch was .… ist es irgendwie möglich aus den sub-menu categories ein slide menu zu machen?
besten Dank! Klasse Theme übrigens. Ich habs für die Arbeit verwendet und bin grad auf der Suche nach einem Theme, das den Ansprüchen eines privaten Vorhabens gerecht wird. Würde gern Yoko nehmen, dazu bräuchte ich aber ein Slide Menu, weil es zu viele unterschiedliche Inhalte sind.

Hallo Ann-Kathrin,
erstelle erst eine Seite mit dem Titel »Impressum«. Dann kannst Du in der footer.php diese Seite verlinken. Beispielsweise könntest Du in der Zeile über »prowdly powered…« mit p und /p eine neue Zeile einfügen, in der Du Dein Impressum verlinkst.

Besteht die Möglichkeit nur bei dem Sub-Menu die Dropdown-Funktion zu benutzen? In dem Main Menu überhalb des Headers brauch ich sie nämlich nicht.

Wie bekomme ich den Titel auf der Startseite weg?

Eine Frage beschaeftigt mich gerade und ich hoffe, dass mir hier vielleicht jemand weiterhelfen kann! Undzwar finde ich den Header mit 1102 x 350 ziemlich riesig und wuerde ihn gerne etwas schmaelern.
Nun habe ich eine Testheader-Grafik erstellt mit 1102 x 200. Das Problem ist, dass ich beim hochladen die Datei »zuschneiden« soll und die zugeschnittene Grafik dann verpixelt auf 1102 x 350 angepasst wird. Das gefaellt mir so gar nicht :-/
Weiß jemand, wie ich das umgehen kann, damit ich den Header etwas kleiner kriege?

Ja, Du musst in der functions.php die gewünschte Höhe ebenfalls angeben, also die 200 px. Die Angaben sind ziemlich weit oben, du findest Sie gleich, achte auf die Zahl 1102! Wenn Du das gemacht hast, erscheint die neue grösse auch im Dashboard.

How can I add custom fields to end of a single post using the yoko theme? I tried using in multiple php pages but I didn’t see anything happening.
This is important to me, too. I’m trying to bring some »Sliding Boxes«, »http://buildinternet.com/project/mosaic/1.0/«, to my starting page. I’m using a custom field for the header and DIVs brought via HTML into the page. Poorly it does not work.
Any hints out there?

Vielen Dank für dieses tolle schlichte und vor allem freie Template so wie die schöne passende Dokumentation.
Es gibt meinerseits aber eine Frage bez. der Menügestaltung von den fest eingerichteten Seiten, welche oben rechts über dem Headerbild erscheinen. Und zwar haben die Menüs ja ein Rollover und listen dann alle Unterseiten auf. Da ich meine Unterseiten immer mal wieder erweitere und die »Seiten« auch als Kategorien nutze, wirkt sich das recht problematisch aus auf die Navigation, die dann langfristig ins Endlose aufklappen dürfte.
Kann man das aufgeklappte Menü etwas kürzen wie z.B. auf die letzten drei Einträge, gefolgt von einem Link wie »Weitere Themen« was dann letztlich die »Kategorie / Seite« öffnet, wo alle Links dann stehen?
Im WordPress Codex bin ich diesbezüglich leider nicht schlau geworden :-(
Nettes Template; wirklich. Nur, warum so ein großer Bereich für das Bild? Standard-Notebook mit 13xx mal ~800 minus Browserstatus und -menue minus Bild … nicht mehr viel zu sehen, oder? :-)
Besser eine Variable, so dass der Admin die Höhe des Bildes einstellen kann.

ich benutze auch dieses super responsive Theme. Habe aber ein Header-Plugin im Einsatz, der den einzelnen Seiten header zuweist. Nun funktioniert das Responsive nicht, sprich die Header-grafiken werden nicht verkleinert. Was kann ich machen, dass das wieder funktioniert? Über jede Antwort/Tipp würde ich mich freuen.

I’m just facing a small problem with mobile devices, the sub-pages aren’t shown or accessible on such devices (i tried on iphone and blackberry). As anyone noticed the same issue or got a solution to fix it?

Have you tried to access to my site on a mobile device (like iPad, iPhone, blackberry etc.) ? Maybe I didn’t understood something but I thought the sub-pages aren’t accessible on such device because the »on over« menu aren’t displayed.
Example: When you access http://daltunes.ch, in the top-menu you could choose/click »VanRonMaiden«. After that a menu should be displayed (with the following options Biography, Videos, Sounds). On a Mac or PC there aren’t any problem, this menu is well displayed, on mobile device I didn’t saw it … maybe I’m wrong.
I hope you could explain me or solve my problem.

Now I understand what you mean. Unfortunately I don’t have any of these modern and stylish devices at my disposal. I just minimized my browser until it had the size of an ancient mobile phone.
And yes, you are right. With these small screen sizes there’s no menu visible.
Unfortunately I have no clue what you could do to fix this problem. When it comes to web design, I’m just a layperson. I was using Yoko last year for my former site and acquired my very limited knowledge through learning by doing.
Due to time constraints Ellen and Manuel are unable to answer any of the thousands of questions of the thousends of users of their free themes. I’m afraid you’d have to hobe and wait for a qualified user with some special knowledge to pop in.

I posted that point in this discussion too »http://www.elmastudio.de/webdesign/webseiten-navigationen-in-responsive-webdesigns-analysiert/comment-page-1/#comment-19995″, cause it’s all about responsive Themes. Hopefully Ellen reads it.
As I just figured out, it’s a »smart-phone-probleme«. It tested it on an iPad (via iOS-Simulator) and it worked! I think, the content (Logo-Image or Headline) which is pushed under the menu prevents the pulldown.

Ich komme nicht in mein Admin Backend rein um ein anderes Theme auszuwählen ! Habt ihr einen Rat für mich ?

Hallo Sam,
die original functions.php von Yoko endet bei Zeile 571. Du hast da offenbar etwas dazugeschrieben, was nach meinem laienhaften Verständnis diesen Fehlercode ausgelöst haben könnte.
Wenn Du Dich gar nicht mehr einloggen kannst, dann bleibt Dir wohl nur der Griff zu Filezilla oder Ähnlichem und der Besuch auf Deinem Server, um die Datei an Ort und Stelle zu ändern.
Ich hoffe, das hilft Dir irgendwie weiter.

Sam, Du könntest ja auch irgendwo in der Datei etwas hinzugefügt haben. Dadurch wird die Datei natürlich insgesamt länger.
Wenn Du tatsächlich nicht auf Deinen Admin-Bereich zugreifen kannst, nützt Dir das erneute Herunterladen des Themes nicht allzu viel.
In diesem Fall müsstest Du wohl tatsächlich direkt auf Deinem Server arbeiten und dort in der functions.php entweder die Zeilen löschen, die Du hinzugefügt hast, oder sie reparieren (meist sind es einfache Syntax-Fehler wie irgendein vergessenes Zeichen, die zu diesen Meldungen führen), und dann die verbesserte Datei wieder auf den Server hochladen.
Wie ist es denn nun – kannst Du Dich in Deinen Admin-Bereich einloggen oder nicht? Von hier außen sieht man nur die Fehlermeldung.

ich kann mich nicht in den Admin Bereich einloggen. Meine functions.php hab ich runter geladen und würde Sie gegen eine neue austauschen und schauen ob sie geht. Ich kenne leider niemand der mir meine alte functions.php überprüfen könnt.

All of the text on my layout looks bold now. I’m not sure how or why this change took place. It didn’t look like that the last time I checked my blog. Do you have any idea why this might be happening?

on my Mac everthing is fine too. Maybe there were problems with your connection to the Google-Fonts. Droid Sans from Google or Arial (from your PC) is needed.

First of all, thank you for the excellent them! I am using it on my site and I think the results are great.
One quick question… is there any fix to prevent the theme link color from affecting the WordPress bar that shows up when I’m logged in? It changes some of that text to blue which makes it hard to see, and makes me think there might be an overzealous selector, or perhaps it’s a WordPress bug.
Love this theme! Been using it for a few months now, but I am having a problem. Under 1024×768 resolutions the single sidebar I am using goes down under the main text of the body. It isn’t being responsive, but it’s instead just sliding down and staying to the right, leaving it empty at the top. Any way to fix this?

Ich habe einen Blog entdeckt, der ebenfalls das Yoko-Theme nutzt. Dabei ist allerdings die Content-Box nicht so hart eckig, sondern abgerundet worden. Der entsprechende Blog ist hier zu finden: http://www.usa-westkueste.de/ - Damit ihr euch das kurz ansehen koennt, was ich meine.
Weiß hier zufaellig jemand, wie man das umsetzt? Also das abrundet? Und vor allem an welcher Stelle?

zunächst einmal vielen Dank für die tolle Arbeit. Eine Frage hätte ich jedoch: ist es möglich, bei einer umfangreicheren Galerie die Anzahl der Vorschaubilder / Thumbnails auf der Startseite zu begrenzen, so dass die gesamte Anzahl dann erst innerhalb des eigentlichen Postings angezeigt wird?
