After collecting initial feedback for our new Aino WordPress theme and Aino Gutenberg Block Collection over the last weeks, we finally want to share the public beta versions of our latest projects with you. We want to invite you to test our new theme and our very first Gutenberg blocks. The more feedback we can receive, the better we can tailor our new projects to your needs. So we would greatly appreciate your help.

How to download the Aino theme and block plugin

Currently you can download our Aino theme and block collection plugin via the following links on Github:

You can download the theme and the plugin on Github and then upload them to your WordPress installation. Please make sure to install the official Gutenberg plugin first, before using the Aino blocks (since we are using some core blocks in combination with our blocks, which are currently only available via the Gutenberg plugin).

Also as long as both projects are still beta versions, we don’t recommend to use the theme and plugin on live websites. It would be great if you can test them on your local WordPress installation or on a test website instead.

Which blocks are included in the plugin?

WordPress Editor Blocks Aino

The following blocks are already available in the beta version of the Aino Block Collection plugin:

✅ Card
✅ Author
✅ Testimonial
✅ Featured Content
✅ Advanced Buttons

In the next releases we will add the blocks:

Hero
Image & Text
Icon
Slider

It’s important to note that you don’t need to use the Aino blocks in combination with the Aino theme. You can also use the blocks with any other available themes and we will work on improving the support for other themes in the upcoming weeks and months.

What is coming next?

Our next step is to prepare the Aino theme and our Aino blocks for WordPress.org. It will take a little while until they will be available there, but we will keep you informed about the progress.

We will also be working on other features for both the theme and the blocks. Therefore we are especially looking forward to your feedback, so we can start building the features you are looking for. We are also working on a website for our Aino projects as well as first demos and documentations, so you can better see what is possible to build with our new theme and blocks.

Questions, Feedback and Communication

To be able to better communicate with you, we have created a Slack workspace. You can find it under ainodesign.slack.com. You can join using the following WP Aino invite link.

You can ask questions or create issues and bug reports directly in Github Issues or ask us via Slack or here on the blog.

From now on I will also publish regular smaller update notes here on the blog and via our newsletter, so that you can easily stay up-to-date with the progress we are making.

I hope you are looking forward to try out our new theme and our first set of Gutenberg blocks. We can’t wait to hear your feedback. We are looking forward to your questions and suggestions on how to improve our work.
